It is hard to look outside, looking at the beautiful sunshine and remembering what has happening in the last 5 days. I hope that each and everyone of you are safe! 

Roberts is a strong community. During this time, we need to work together to help a few teachers heavily effected during Hurricane Harvey. Two teachers have had their roof cave, and six other teachers have water in their homes. They need our help. Heather Peterson, a Roberts' parent, is spearheading the effort to help these teachers. She is currently collecting items, such as: food, and replacement items (household and clothing). At this moment, she really needs hands to help with cleaning and packing of the homes. If you are willing to help in any possible manner, please contact Heather Peterson on Facebook or join the Roberts' page. 

This is the perfect time model action and community to our kids. 

As of now, we have not had any other word in regards for a later start and will be starting Tuesday, September 5. Please sign up for HISD texts by texting 'YES' to 68453.

• Rainy Day Dismissal: All parent walk-up will be dismissed from inside the building. Fifth graders will be located in the Fine Arts Wing.

For the first week of school, we will be going over:

• Creating Essential Agreements
• Becoming familiar with routines, schedules, and expectations
• Begin our class novel
• Completing Running Records
• Setting- up subject area journals.
