There will be a quiz on the Causes of the Revolutionary War next Monday the November 6th. It will come straight from the newspaper that is handed out this week.

International Festival


Roberts Parents: 
In preparation for of our annual International Festival on Friday, October 20, we will have early dismissal at 12:30pm. This is an Early Dismissal for Roberts ONLY. Below you will find information on the dismissal process. Lunch will be served on an altered schedule., therefore parents will not be able to join students for lunch on this day. Most importantly, we will NOT have HISD bus service or After School Care on Friday, October 20. Parents of students who ride HISD buses or participate in the Roberts After School Care Program must make arrangements to pick up their children at the 12:30 dismissal time from Roberts. If you plan to pick your child up prior to the 12:30 dismissal, please be mindful that we will not be able to call students from class after 11:45pm. 
This will be a school wide dismissal day. To help in getting students to the designated areas in a timely manner, we will begin making our way to the dismissal areas slightly before the 12:30 dismissal time. 
Parent Walk-Up: No change in procedure. All students will be released from their regular dismissal area (deck near playground). 
Independent Walkers: No change in procedure. We will begin releasing students at 12:30pm. 
Carpool: No change in procedure. We will begin calling students for carpool promptly at 12:30pm
Buses: There will be NO HISD bus transportation provided. Parents should make arrangements to pick up their children at the 12:30 dismissal time. All day care facilities have been notified and will pick up students at the 12:30 dismissal time. 
If you are designating someone other than the person who regularly picks up your child for pick-up on this day, please email the teacher (no later than Thursday night). Also, make sure the person picking up the student knows the teacher name and/or the grade level. 
Please note that we will begin setting up for the International Festival as soon as we have completed dismissal. As a result, the playground area will be closed after dismissal.
We hope to see all of you at the International Festival from 3:00 – 6:00pm!

Reminders:
ü  Make sure your child is completing redoes if they scored below a 70
ü  International Festival will be on October 20 (This Friday)  (EARLY DISMISSAL DAY)
ü  Camp is on October 24-26
ü  Think about Exhibition Project topic idea
